Another similar day, but different passage again

A dry sunny day. A west breeze developing by mid morning.

113 common scoter

46 outbound sandwich tern

6 gannet out

1 red throated diver out

2 adult little gull in

No passerine or hirundine vis that I could see.

Two willow warbler north wall and three near gate 38.

4 pale bellied Brent red nab when I got there then flew towards the head at 0835

I had a walk along the south side 08:40 - 10:00 (Malcolm)

Linnet resting on a caravan roof

Wheatear 1 along the foreshore
Wheatear

Rock Pipits 4 at least.
The Red Nab male was displaying (parachuting) again. This clip won't win any BAFTA awards, but it does covey the essence. The Rock Pipit is on top of the large rock just right of centre.

This is a location shot of the Rock Pipit that invariably stands here on the sea wall

This Rock Pipit is taking nesting material to the nest site by the lighthouse

Meanwhile her mate was trying to distract me. Successfully as it turned
out, I missed her flying to the nest hole.

Pied Wagtail 1 in/off over the foreshore
White Wagtail 1 feeding along the sea wall.

Eider 1 male south
Shelduck 2 on the shore plus 2 south

The four Brent geese flew back to Red Nab at 09:40

100+ Turnstone resting on the wooden jetty

Another small flock of Turnstone and a single Knot flying to the
wooden jetty from the north

Middleton Nature Reserve
Janet checked just after lunch
There seemed to be a lot of Willow Warblers around

Blue Tit covered in pollen

Long-Tailed Tit

I checked the main ponds later (Malcolm)
Not so many Willow Warblers then, just 2 heard
Chiffchaff several singing
Cetti's Warbler 3 singing

Mallard 9 on the main pond
These males were making a lot of noise. The female looked far from impressed!

Gadwall 5 male and a female on the "no swimming" pond. A pair on the fence pond
Little Grebe 1 trilling on the "no swimming" pond
Coot 10

Pheasant 1 male calling and strutting his stuff!
Male Pheasant

The only butterflies seen were male Orange Tips and this Peacock
