Lesser Redpoll 4, Reed Bunting 4, Goldcrest 3, Wren 1 (plus 1 retrap), Chaffinch 1, Coal Tit 1, Blackbird 1, Blue Tit 2 (plus 1 retrap), Long-tailed Tit 1 retrap.

Mediterranean Gull (this is the frustration!) - 1 adult plus 1 x 2nd calendar year on shore with a group of BHG. Both had white darvic rings, unfortunately just, only just, out of reading range, before they were spooked and headed off south.

Both the Meds can be seen on this shot.

There seemed to be a few additional Wrens on the saltmarsh.

This is a slightly different Wren pose.

This young mute was practicing flying on the main pond at Middleton.

Taking off was hard work

but landing looked like fun
