The winds were still strong from SW, but not quite as strong as yesterday. Showers in the morning, then almost constant and increasingly heavy rain from lunchtime onwards.

This Herring Gull was waiting out the tide on Ocean Edge, its upper mandible is overgrown. It looks like it has had some trauma at the base of the lower mandible, which may be the cause. But, apart from that it looks fine (MD)
