Coot back to bickering

An overcast day with just an odd very light shower. Light SE breeze moving more south in the afternoon.

North shore (Malcolm)
A check on the skear on the rising morning tide.
Pale-bellied Brent goose 26
Eider 18

Oystercatcher 1,500
Curlew 20
Redshank 30
Knot 600
Turnstone 25
Dunlin 6
Ringed Plover 12
This Knot is swallowing a surprisingly large mussel

Knot, Oystercatcher and a Brent goose overspilling onto the shore

A nice size comparison shot for a Brent goose

Peregrine Falcon pair circled above, but by that time the Knot had already moved off to the south.

Middleton Nature Reserve
Some shots from Janet's walk around the main pond.
Mallard, Tufted duck and Gadwall

The Coot numbers are growing again, and so are the squabbles

Blue and Long-Tailed Tits

It's a popular feeder, but it seems unclear whose turn it is!

Always nice to see a Robin

Just the darker Stonechat seen on the Sunnyslopes today
