Nothing new, except a fly

A dry day after overnight rain. A west wind.

Middleton Nature Reserve
Shaun Coyle had a look around early on 06:00-08:00: 

Chiffchaff 14

Willow Warbler 7

Blackcap 6, 

Cetti's Warbler at least 5,

Whitethroat 1 (all above singing). 

Canada Goose 9 over heading south.

Greylag Goose 3 circling the site. 

Shelduck on Main Pond. 

Raven heard.  


Janet checked a bit later.

Heliport: Redshank 290, Turnstone 4, Oystercatcher 2870 roosting at high tide
Harbour: Redshank 64, Turnstone 3 roosting at high tide. Rock Pipit seen.

Just out of the recording area:

Ian Hartley: Three Arctic Skuas, off plover scar, Cockersands.  Drifted in, flew around together, then back on sea. (Would have been visible from Ocean Edge)
